ORI's Doctors

Dr. Michael A. Partridge,
BA MD(CCFP)EM DCAPM FCFP Cpocus
Chronic Pain, Addiction and Emergency Physician with over 30 years of practice experience
Adjunct Lecturer Dept. of Family and Community Medicine University of Toronto
Scarborough Health Network Emergency Medicine Staff Physician
Scarborough Health Network Rapid Access Addiction Medicine Clinic (RAAM) Staff physician
Certified Independent Ultrasound Practitioner: Canadian Point of Care Ultrasound Society
Diplomate of the Canadian Academy of Pain Management

My interest in chronic pain management arose from looking after patients in my family practice who suffered from chronic pain and realizing I needed new tools to help them. This led to training in interventional pain techniques and obtaining the CPSO change of scope of practice in chronic pain. I was also motivated by my experience in the Emergency Department of patients in pain who needed better pain management.

As an Emergency Physician I have acquired the advanced ultrasound skills necessary for diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of conditions. I have expanded those ultrasound skills to include interventional chronic pain to maximize the benefit I can give to my patients. I am truly grateful to be able to use these techniques to make my patients' lives better with improved quality of life and improved function.

As an addiction physician, I see the potential harm of overuse of some types of medications. I strongly believe that advanced ultrasound-guided interventional treatments can help reduce or eliminate the need for some types of powerful medications.

I am excited to have the privilege at Orthopedic Rehabilitation Institute of helping patients in chronic pain regain their quality of life with our advanced pain management techniques.
